I have a MicroSeven security camera that saves video as AVI files, such as this magnificent example of USPS customer service. Download mac os high sierra dmg torrent. VLC can play the videos, and reports them as 'H264 - MPEG-4 AVC (part 10)(H264)':
But why won't QuickTime Player play them? I even have the old QT Player 7, and it won't play them either. I have to use VLC on my Mac.
If I run this video through:
I can then play the resulting fill-in both QT Player and VLC, and VLC reports the new file as 'H264 - MPEG-4 AVC (part 10)(avc1)':
Is that last parenthetical the important part?
BTW if you just want to see the video without downloading and opening in VLC, here it is on YouTube. YouTube transcoded it just fine.
