Dex Daina Now Available For Mac

Aug 22, 2019 Samsung Dex app now available on Windows, Mac: Here’s why you should try it out. Samsung touted improved Dex capabilities with the Galaxy Note 10 series, allowing users to access the phones’ desktop environment via a laptop and a USB cable. Samsung's DeX app is now available on Windows and Mac, which allows you to run the desktop environment within your other desktop operating system.
What you need to know
- The Samsung DeX app is now available for Windows and Mac.
- The app allows the Galaxy Note 10 and Note 10+ to project the DeX experience onto a computer.
- The app requires a Galaxy Note 10 or Note 10+ and doesn't work with older Galaxy devices.
The Samsung DeX app is now available for Windows and Mac. The app allows users to connect the Galaxy Note 10 and Galaxy Note 10+ to their computer and use a desktop experience powered by their phone. DeX also works with monitors, but the Samsung DeX app allows users to convert any Windows PC or Mac into a screen for their DeX experience.
The Samsung DeX app is free and works with Windows 7, Windows 10, and Mac OS versions higher than 10.13. Samsung's post announcing the availability of the app outlines some of the advantages of using DeX on a computer, including being able to use files stored locally on your phone during a presentation and being able to play mobile games on a larger screen.
One of the major drawbacks of using Samsung DeX is that many monitors don't have a spare mouse or keyboard attached. The Samsung DeX app allows you to control the DeX experience with your computer's mouse and keyboard.
Several apps have been optimized to work with Samsung DeX, including Microsoft Office and Microsoft Remote Desktop. Other popular apps like YouTube, Twitch, and Adobe Premiere Rush also work through Samsung DeX.
While Samsung DeX as a platform works with older Galaxy phones and Galaxy Tab devices, the Samsung DeX app for Windows and Mac only works with a Galaxy Note 10 or Galaxy Note 10+.

DAINA (MacOS version) - Virtual Vocalist for use with 'VOCALOID4 Editor for Cubase' *
*To use DAINA (MacOS version), you will also need at least the 'VOCALOID4 Editor for Cubase' from YAMAHA which includes 'Cubase AI' from Steinberg**. IMPORTANT - please note that the required 'VOCALOID4 Editor for Cubase' is only available to purchase in the USA at present. We will advise here, as soon as this situation changes. We expect it to be available in other countries soon.
[You are viewing the Mac version of DAINA - for the PC/Windows version of DAINA click here].
DAINA and DEX are Zero-G's newest Vocaloid voice banks and are our most emotive and expressive virtual vocalists to date. Much care has been taken with their development to create realistic and unique sounding voicebanks. They are set apart from previous releases due to both their American accents and their diverse vocal characteristics.
DEX is a powerful male singer who will shine in multiple types of music, with emphasis on Rock, Pop and EDM styles. DAINA is a youthful yet soulful and husky female with an equally large range, who will be especially spectacular in Pop, Dance and Country styles.
The ultimate vocal duo..
These exciting new singers are the ultimate duo and counterbalance each other's strengths and weaknesses, making duets between them an absolute delight.

DEX and DAINA's release also marks Zero-G's foray into new styles of English Vocaloid editing, with the inclusion of specialized phonemes designed to emphasize Dex and Daina's American accents. These new phonemes also improve the overall pronunciation of the words and lyrics that producers will implement into their own creations.
DEX and DAINA also take advantage of the new developments in Vocaloid 4 with improved dynamic capabilities and a new 'growl' function that enables more character and impact from the vocal.
These two new Vocaloid4 voice libraries are shining examples of how English Vocaloid technology is growing and expanding, reaching new levels of understandability and realism. They are excellent voice banks for beginners in Vocaloid production, as well as for professional musicians and composers.
DEX and DAINA not only provide features which can be used to create temporary demo tracks before choosing a human singer, but also allow completely new and unique musical vocal expression and effects which humans simply cannot sing. They have flexible voices with clear speech, powerful sustained tones, and smooth vocalization that enables you to use them for any song and any genre of music.
*To use DEX or DAINA MacOS versions, you will also need at least the 'VOCALOID4 Editor for Cubase' from YAMAHA which comes bundled with 'CUBASE AI' from Steinberg (more info below).
To start producing a singing voice using VOCALOID on Apple Mac, you need the following software:
1. CUBASE** (a Steinberg product, available elsewhere), and
2. VOCALOID4 EDITOR for CUBASE** (a YAMAHA product, available elsewhere), and
3. at least one VOCALOID4 Library (voicebank) such as DEX (MacOS version) or DAINA (MacOS version).
(**Please note that the Vocaloid4 Editor for Cubase comes already bundled with CUBASE AI, which is a special compact version of Cubase offering all the basic tools for recording, editing and mixing everything from the basic idea to the final masterpiece. You can edit audio and MIDI data in real time, use 28 high-quality VST3 plug-in effects, play more than 180 instrument sounds with HALion Sonic SE, and use MixConsole to cover a variety of routing. Cubase AI is a perfect entry ticket into the world of computer-based music production).
IMPORTANT - please note that the required 'VOCALOID4 Editor for Cubase' is only available to purchase in the USA at present. We will advise here, as soon as this situation changes. We expect it to be available in other countries soon.
The 'Editor' is the composing software and singing voice synthesizing engine, and there are two types available from Yamaha: make sure you have the type called 'VOCALOID4 Editor for Cubase' if you want to work on Apple Mac.
The 'Library' is the product that contains the voice databank, such as DEX or DAINA - you need to load a library like DEX or DAINA into the editor to use it.
Note that Yamaha's 'VOCALOID4 Editor for Cubase', when used on Apple Mac, can also directly load any VOCALOID4 and VOCALOID3 libraries that come with a MacOS installer (sorry but 'AVANNA' does not come with a Mac installer so it cannot be used on Apple Mac). Please note that VOCALOID4 specific features like 'Growl' can't be used with VOCALOID3 libraries.
You can NOT use VOCALOID2 Voice Libraries (like Prima, Tonio or Sonika) in the VOCALOID4 Editor for Cubase on Apple Mac - sorry.
VOCALOID4 Editor for Cubase can load and convert Vsqx files created in VOCALOID4 and VOCALOID3, and Vsq files created in VOCALOID2, into formats that can be used in Cubase.

Not familiar with Vocaloid?
VOCALOID is a singing voice synthesis technology developed by Yamaha Corporation. VOCALOID software allows users to input melody and lyrics in order to synthesize a singing voice. In other words, a singing voice can be produced without a human singer by using this technology. Synthesized singing from this tool is produced from Voice/Singer Libraries, which are databases of fragments of voices and phonemes recorded from actual singers. Various voices can be used by changing the Voice/Singer Library. There are lots of musical pieces and works created by users using products with VOCALOID technology, on Youtube and many other types of media. There are more details and information on Vocaloid technology and Yamaha's VOCALOID4 Editors here: http://www.vocaloid.com/us/
